Love me, love my dog ( finger puppets)

It was inevitable that I would make doggy finger puppets as part of my finger puppet sets that I am making for my upcoming Craft stall at Morley College

It would be lovely to see lots of you there, here’re my latest puppy dogs.

I know I’m biased, but I think they’re really cute. They’d make the perfect gift for dog lovers everywhere, are fantastic for creative play and could be the gift for someone who already has everything. They’re one -off , so guaranteed no one will have anything like this. A set of 3 handmade puppies costs £12 and come presented in their own white box.

Woof!

Busy busy bee

I’ve been so busy making things for my up coming crochet stall at Morley College  Winter Fair  on the 4th December  and doing puppet shows for birthday parties that I’ve sadly neglected my blog. For this I do apologise .

I’m going to show you all briefly what I’ve been making.

I’m really getting into the creative side of crochet in a big way. I’m an artist at heart ( and by training) and crochet is bringing out the sculptor in me. I’m now making up my own patterns and creating my own creatures . It’s so exciting.

I’ve been making lots of finger puppet sets as gift ideas for Xmas. The more I make, the more ideas I get for new ones. I really must get off this computer and start another. But before I do, let me show you what I’ve made so far.

With my obsession with all things fairyland, I had to make a fairyland set, complete with fairy, flowers, toadstool and a sweet bambi. Aah!

Details of my fairyland finger puppet set.

The full set. I made up the patterns.

Old Macdonald had a farm, E I E I O

And on that farm he had a chicken, a duck, a pig, a horse and a scarecrow

Zoo animals and a pink elephant. Well, why not?

Little Arabella Miller found a wooly caterpilar, and a frog and a daisy, a snail and a butterfly.

Blast off ! With a rocket,a flying saucer, alien , moon and star.

Tell a knights tale with this dragon, damsel, tower, noble steed, and knight in shiny silver amour.

I’ll be back to show you the rest.

Now where did I put my crochet hook?

Flower Fairy cuteness

I’m still beavering on, crocheting items for my upcoming Xmas Craft stall at Morley College.

I know, these darlings are labour intensive and really you can’t charge what they are really worth in man ( woman in my case) hours, but I so love bringing these magical creatures to life.

The pattern is based on the wonderful work of Beth Webber ( she of the muse status in my previous doggy amigurumi posts.) A fabulous photo tutorial for making this fairy doll with her moveable head is available here

The blue haired one is rather punky and funky with her textured dreads and curls and far out eyes. She wears green boots and a flower tutu.

Cute crochet flower fairy blue hair

Funky flower fairy

She's so sweet

She looks like she’d have a kick-ass attitude. I like that in a fairy.

Her sister sprite is a little more delicate with her long legs and green fluffy hair.

Pretty gorgeous

I'd make a wonderful gift for a special person

Well, I’m off now to start something new.

So many things to crochet, so little time!

More painting, this time stuff I did at Morley College a while back. Some of it experimental, all of it bright.
