Bright and Beautiful Cotton Crochet

I’ve not stopped crocheting. I can’t… I think I have a problem ; one that really doesn’t need fixing though!

I do have a serious yarn addiction though. I think it comes as part of the territory when you take up any form of needlework. There is always that particular shade of purple you just can’t quite find, or you stumble upon a very remarkable multicoloured/textured yarn that you really can’t not have.

My latest stash of yarn came from a fellow crochet person I have befriended on Facebook called Rachael. She runs her own business making gorgeous cushion covers and afghans from super soft and bright cotton.

These are my latest creations using her lovely yarns . I’ve just run out and am waiting my next delivery.

 

I call this my rainbow Wee Willy Winky set. Would fit up to 6 months.

For those of you reading this who are wondering if I have the pattern… sorry. I just made it up as I went along. For me, this is the beauty of crochet. It would be pretty easy to work out based on any other simple infant jacket pattern, just change the colours to suit.

Baby cotton flower beanies

I shall be making more of these in different colours and sizes. The Pistachio green one is newborn to 3 months, the Primrose yellow one is 3-6 months.

Looks fabulous on and is so soft and comfortable too.

I decided to make a matching set for Baby and parent.

So here is L’l Pirate and Big Pirate.

L’l and Big Pirate hat set.

Made from pure cotton in white and navy stripes, this lovely set is bound to put a smile on everyone’s face. L’l and Big Pirate hand embroidered in red and offset with silver coloured skull and crossbones charm.

Big Pirate hat is big enough to fit even Papa Bear.

More Pixie hats

It’s crochet all the way here, every little bit of spare time I have, I’m hooking. You might say I’m hooked on crochet.

This hat is darling. It would fit up to toddler size , probably around 3years old and I think would suit both girls and boys.

This next Crochet pixie hat is my personal favourite. Made in a very soft boucle yarn in midnight blue it features a bright red heart.; very up to the minute what with Valentines day just around the corner. It is a smaller size, suitable for babies up to a year.

The next crochet pixie hat is also suitable for both boys and girls. Worked up in a variegated red/purple/ brown yarn it features a 3D crochet ladybird on a leaf and a cherry red rim around the edge. Will fit babies and toddlers up to around 2 years old.

Funky and fun fairy toddler hats

Here are more pictures of the hats and accessories that I have been busy making.

I don’t know about you, but I’m rather bored with the run of the mill baby and toddler stuff available out there. Childhood is meant to be fun and let’s face it, they’ll only let you dress them up when they’re little, so why not have fun with it?

Here are some hats that are inspired by my love of fairyland and all things bright and beautiful, plus a few newborn size cotton flower crochet headbands if you are thinking of gilding the lily that is your newborn daughter. I’m happy to take orders for other sizes, just register your interest. Turn around is two weeks for each item. Cotton beanies are £15 , yarn beanies are £10. ( p+p inclusive for UK)

Earflap hats are the same price. Practical as well as cute, they sit firmly on a toddlers head resisting that wonderful urge they have to pull off a hat.
